The Ultimate Summer Bucket List

It’s no secret that summer is the most relaxing time of the year. The weather is warm, days are long and vacations are planned. But relaxation doesn’t have to mean sitting around and doing nothing. In fact, summer is the perfect time to make a list of things you want to do but wouldn’t have time for throughout the rest of the year – the ultimate summer bucket list. We had mentioned how to design your own summer bucket list  step by step in this article.

Summer Bucket List

Rather than the traditional bucket list items – visit someplace new or run a marathon – get creative with your list. Bucket lists don’t need to be global or expensive. Think of things that would be important to you and then cross them off one by one.

We are attached to cameras these days. Most people spend 24/7 within an arm’s reach of their mobile phone. Make it a goal to take one photo or video clip every day that documents what you’ve done. Maybe it’s the landscape from a hike you took or the ice cream cone that you got with friends. At the end of the summer, put the photos and videos into a slideshow and relive the best moments of your summer. Check out our summer photography guide to get more inspirations.

Bucket lists are usually about traveling somewhere new. But it’s surprising how many people have never even explored their hometown. Visit a museum or take a tour and learn something new about the place you call home.

Take advantage of some extra free time this summer by learning about something that interests you – a photography class, a screenplay writing class, etc. No need to break the bank on this one. There are plenty of options for free classes online, through programs such as iTunes University.

It’s hard to disconnect from technology in today’s times, but if there’s ever a time it can be done, it’s the summer. Forget about technology – cell phones, television, podcasts, etc. – and commit an entire day to going into “ghost mode.” Read a book, take a hike or have lunch with some friends. You can catch up on everything you missed on Facebook the next day.

Drive-in movie theaters are making a comeback, so there’s bound to be a theater within an hour drive of you. Grab some friends, pick a movie and make a night of it. Go early too. There are always people set up an hour before the film playing games and tailgating.

Young adult recreation leagues are forming in cities all over the country in every different type of sport. Whether you’re an ex-varsity star or just someone looking to stay fit and active, there are leagues you can join. It’s the perfect opportunity to exercise and make some new friends in your neighborhood.

You can simply write down the list on a piece of paper, but you can also design it beautifully and easily with Fotor’s graphic designer! With so many beautiful templates, you can DIY your own bucket list in the exact style you want. Don’t forget to print it out and stick it on your wall.

Don’t let summer pass you by without making the most of it. Find some things that you’ve always wanted to do, or some things you never thought you could do, and make a plan to accomplish it this year.
